Job Summary:
Who May Apply: All U.S. Citizens. NOTE: This vacancy will be filled thorough OPM's Directo Hire Authority. This position is located in the Information Assurance Division, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The OCIO is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for Agency-wide information technology programs that support the mission and goals of the National Labor Relations Board. The OCIO develops and recommends plans, policies, and procedures in order to implement IT Security guidance and direction from Congress, the Executive Office (including OMB and GAO), the Office of the Inspector General, the Department of Homeland Security, other agencies, and related private sector institutions and organizations. Works with all levels of agency personnel to ensure that information and information technology are being appropriately protected. Monitors all aspects of security procedures affecting information and information technology systems assets, as well as selection, implementation and administration of security software and hardware and recommends improvements or changes due to new products and technology. Assists in managing all aspects of the agency's information security program in compliance with Federal laws, regulations, policy, and guidance; developing and publishing NLRB information security policies, standards and guidelines; directing security assessments and reviews of general support systems and major business application systems; ensuring there is a systematic process to identify and handle information security incidents; serving as a point of contact for the NLRB with other government and private sector organizations on matters of information security; and leading efforts to establish and maintain technical security initiatives.
